Why should I get North Sydney Orthodontics to do my Invisalign?

North Sydney Orthodontics is a specialist orthodontic practice that is not only accredited in Invisalign but all tooth movement methods. All available methods to obtain straight teeth are offered, and we will give you unbiased advice about the limitations and advantages of different treatment methods for your particular case.  We have a deep understanding of the biomechanics of tooth movement and our invisalign treatments are consistently successful.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign create a digital model of your teeth and a treatment aim determined by the doctor.  Using algorithms within the align software individual tooth movements are staged that bring about your alignment in carefully controlled increments.  For every stage  a set of aligners is worn for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move little by little, until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Daniels  has prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Daniels about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your invisalign treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

How to start Invisalign

Following your initial consultation, Dr Daniels will advise how Invisalign can work for you. A full treatment plan with all the alternative methods available will be provided. Once you are happy to proceed the working impression of your teeth is obtained and submitted to Invisalign.
Invisalign creates a digital model of your teeth and  carefully translates the treatment prescription into a sequence of stages. We then show you the clin-check planned tooth movements on the computer before finalising the manufacture of your custom aligners to make your teeth straight.
You then wear each set of aligners for two to three weeks, moving your teeth gradually:  millimetre by millimetre. We check you every 6-8 weekly to ensure your progress matches the predicted plan

What are the benefits of Invisalign compared to braces?

Invisalign is nearly invisible – and removable – you can eat and drink what you want in treatment; you can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.

Invisalign allows you to visualise your treatment before you start, using the clin-check simulation- This means there will be no unexpected outcomes and you can see detailed three dimensional images of how straight your teeth will look and how long treatment should take. We will even allow you to view the computer image results and give us the go ahead only when you are totally satisfied with the planned tooth positions.

What is the cost of a consultation for Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment is suitable for a large number of teenagers and adult patients. We offer a Free Invisalign Suitability Check. The suitability check is a short consultation limited to discussion of Invisalign suitability only.  No other treatment method will be discussed.

If you wish to discuss all of the available methods for getting your teeth straight our usual consultation  fee of $110.00 will apply.  A percentage of this fee is claimable through almost all health insurance companies.

What is the cost of Invisalign?

  1. Suitability check for invisalign $free

  2. The overall cost for a simple Invisalign treatment can start from a little as $6000.00

These fees are correct for treatments commencing during 2016

Can my dentist do Invisalign cheaper?

If you intending to claim back your fees from a health fund it is important to check the benefit available for non-specialists as some health funds make a substantially larger benefit payment for Invisalign carried out by a specialist orthodontist.  Also check that the fees for retainers x-rays and records as well as the Invisalign treatment are included in any quote. Our quotes are fully inclusive

Will insurance cover any of the cost of my Invisalign treatment?

Yes, providing you have orthodontic coverage (braces), Invisalign should be covered to the same extent as conventional braces and  like all dental and medical care a tax rebate is available for any out of pocket expenses over the Australian taxation Office annual threshold. Check with your taxation advisor for details.

Can any dentist do Invisalign ?

Invisalign quality improvement have developed protocols to maximize the effectiveness of treatment but the process is still under the control of the clinician providing your treatment. Many dentists are carrying out Invisalign but we believe that the best chance of success is when orthodontic treatment is provided by a fully trained orthodontist who is familiar with the potential difficulties of tooth movement.

What if I need to have teeth removed for Invisalign treatment?

Improved technolgies now allow us to consider some extraction cases using the invisalign method.  While more complex treatments may take longer with invisalign compared to other methods continual improvements mean treatment times may reduce further.  If your teeth are mildly crowded often space can be found by slightly expanding the dental arch, moving the molar teeth back, making some teeth a fraction of a millimetre narrower or moving teeth forward that are pushed too far back.

How long does Invisalign take to complete treatment?

It depends on the treatment aims and how much tooth movement is required, but the treatment duration is usually longer than braces.

Is Invisalign treatment painful ?

Most people experience temporary, minor discomfort for a few days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment. This is a normal part of all orthodontic treatments.

Will Invisalign affect my speech?

Like all orthodontic treatments, Aligners may temporarily affect the speech of some people, and you may have a slight lisp for a day or two

Will my teeth remain straight after Invisalign treatment?

Like all orthodontic treatment relapse of alignment is a possibility so a retention strategy is required to keep teeth straight once active treatment is completed.  The type of available retainers will be discussed with you and your initial retainers are included free in your invisalign treatment costs.

I was always very conscious of the responsibility that being a professional person brings, and I have always striven to be the best practitioner I can be and advise and treat my patients in their best interest.
