Orthodontic problems are commonly classified into 3 broad categories depending on the the relative horizontal position and size of the upper jaw compared to the lower jaw. However within each class there is a very wide variety of distinct problems.

Class 3 cases
The lower jaw is too big to match the upper jaw and the lower teeth usually bite in front.
